Zendaya Discusses The Need for Diversity

Let’s step away from another instance of #HollywoodSoWhite. At Marie Claire's "Fresh Faces" event, Zendaya shared her reason for returning to Disney Channel's K.C. Undercover. “To see a black family, to see a young girl with these adorable Afro puffs, little things like that are so important,” she said of the lack of diversity on television. As a major star, Zendaya recently landed a role in the next Spider-Man movie, it's clear that she has pushed for diverse working opportunities. But to her younger fans, she is one of the few recognizable faces of color on a channel that predominantly features white stars.
